Dr Koketjo Tsebe
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Koketjo Tsebe is a Clinical Psychologist registered with Health Professions Council Of South Africa (HPCSA) and a Ph.D Psychology alumna. Dr Tsebe has a wide range of experience in the hospitals, corporate, sports and academic fraternity. She has worked at the following institutions:
- Steve Biko Academic Hospital
- South Africa Police Services
- Tshwane Rehabilitation Hospital
Currently, she consults inpatients at Zwavelstream Clinic and Mediclinic Medforum.
Senior Lecturer
Dr Koketjo Tsebe is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of South Africa (UNISA). She is involved in teaching postgraduate modules, i.e. Sports Psychology, Psycho-legal Psychology, Community Psychology and Psychological Assessment. Dr Tsebe is also a supervisor for Masters and Doctoral students pursuing research in the field of sports psychology. She is also a Coordinator of Engaged Scholarship and Academic Citizenship. As an academic, she has presented her research findings at both local and international sport psychology conferences and published in Department of Higher Education and Training accredited journals.
Sports Psychology Consultant
Dr Koketjo Tsebe has worked with various national sporting codes and professional athletes. She was a Team Psychologist for the South African Senior Women’s Football National Team (Banyana Banyana) and she supported the team during the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023. She is also a team psychologist for Softball South Africa. She was appointed as a Psychologist for Team South Africa at the African Union Region 5 Games Lilongwe 2022 and at the 13th African Games 2023 Accra. Dr Tsebe has also consulted with the Spar Proteas (netball national team) and Limpopo Academy of Sports.

Dr Koketjo Tsebe has given numerous talks about mental health in sports. She has spoken or presented at the following organizations: Carling Black Label Cup, FNB Football First Coaching Clinic (FIFA 2010 Legacy Programme), SASCOC Athletes Indaba, Kenyan Olympic Committee Athletes Seminar, Cape Town Sports Council, Limpopo Sports Confederation Women in Sports Dialogue, Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation (Gauteng Women in Sports Dialogue), University of Fort Hare in collaboration with the Eastern Cape Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture and South African Society of Psychiatrist.

Board member and awardee
Dr Koketjo Tsebe occupies various leadership roles. She serves as the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) High Performance Psychology Working Group Member and as an Anti-Doping Appeal Board Member for the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS). In addition, she is a Steering Committee Member of the South African Society for Sport and Exercise Psychology (SASSEP) and serves in the Tshwane University Academic Advisory Board - Sport Management. Dr Tsebe has received numerous awards from different institutions which includes the following: 200 Young South Africans (under the sport category) by Mail and Guardian, Special Recognition Award finalist in the Momentum gsport Awards and Limpopo Department of Sports, Arts and Culture Sports Awards.
